Police are investigating after a daytime hit-and-run that took place in South Vancouver.
Just before 1 pm Sunday, a 71-year-old woman was crossing Southeast Marine Drive at Victoria Drive via crosswalk.
Partway through, she was struck by a silver mini-van moving west.
Witnesses immediately came to help the victim and she was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver, however, failed to stop and immediately left the area.
Based on information shared by witnesses, police officers found what is believed to be the suspect vehicle. It was parked and left unoccupied in New Westminster.
Detectives from VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit are asking for any witnesses, or anyone driving in the area with dash-cam footage, to call 604-717-3012.
In the meantime, Victoria Drive is closed in both directions, as well as two of three lanes moving westbound on Southeast Marine Drive.
Roads are expected to be cleared later this evening.
