Man dies after being struck by passenger train in South Surrey

Surrey RCMP are investigating a fatal incident involving a passenger train that claimed the life of one man in South Surrey on Wednesday night.

According to police, the incident took place at 10:03 pm, when officers were called to the Crescent Beach area of the city, for reports a train had hit a person.

Upon their arrival at the scene, police found the man dead.

Surrey RCMP said they are currently investigating the matter and the investigation is still in its early stages.

“There are multiple witnesses that are being interviewed in order to create a clear picture of the incident,” said Surrey RCMP Staff Sgt. Dwayne Farlin.

Police are not releasing the name of the man at this time.
