The Canadian Olympic Committee has announced the full roster of athletes that will compete for Canada at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

It will be the largest Canadian team ever sent to a Winter Games with 221 athletes competing across 14 sports.

There are high hopes leading into these Games, with the Associated Press predicting Canada will win 13 gold medals – just shy of one medal from the record, medal chart-topping 14 gold medals won four years ago in Vancouver. In 2010, in addition to its massive gold haul, Canada won seven silver and five bronze medals.

“The size of our team and its medal potential is a great tribute to our athletes, their coaches and the system Canada has in place to develop high performance Olympic athletes,” said Steve Podborski, the chef de mission for the Canadian Olympic Team at Sochi.

“Our athletes are very talented and are the best-prepared team to ever represent Canada at the Winter Games. Our medal success in Vancouver has established a benchmark that all our athletes are eager to surpass.”

Of the 221 athletes being sent to Sochi, 30 athletes were born and/or reside in British Columbia. Ontario will send 64 athletes, the most athletes out of all the provinces, while Alberta comes second with 56 athletes and Quebec at third with 43 athletes.

The majority of British Columbia’s athletes will be competing in snowboarding and skiing sports. See below for the full list of B.C. athletes competing at Sochi 2014:
