Snowskating is a thing in Vancouver, and it's awesome (VIDEO)

While the rest of us have been slipping and sliding our way around the city during the recent snowfall, one local skate store has turned Vancouver into their playground.

The guys over at Landyachtz, a snow and skateboard company that’s been making skateboards for more than 18 years, used the wintery weather as an excuse to try out their Snowskates.

So what are snowskates?

“LY Snowskates was created by Landyachtz Longboards as a way to skate year-round,” Nate Schumacher from Landyachtz told Daily Hive.

“Hanging up your skateboard in the winter was killing us and although snowskates already existed we figured we could make our own. LY Snow was born. We wanted to make snowskates that would feel like a skateboard but you could ride them all over the place. You can take them up to Cypress mountain or out to your local tobogganing hill and have a blast with friends. ”

The end result looks like a lot of fun, as this video which was shot in East van at locations including  Queen Elizabeth Park, Kensington park, and Clark Park shows.
