Smog, Just Another Reason Not to Live in The Valley

It’s no secret I am not a fan of living in the Valley, I am a product of East Van and as a youth would scoff at the notion of moving out to Surrey, Langely etc… Whilst Vancouverites soak in the rays at English Bay, Kits, Jericho, Spanish Banks, seawall, Stanley Park, SEFC etc… Frasery Valley residents are greeted with swelteringtemperatures and smog filled air.

Yes please sell me a mcmansion in the valley so I can be stuck in my car for hours on end, or wake up at 5 in the morning just to get to work everday. After all sleep and time at home is so overrated. Public transportation, forget about it, bring on the sprawl. Egregious.

Truth is the suburban dream conjured up my marketing geniuses down south is officially dead. The suburbs are littered with violence, homelessness, strip malls, traffic, poor public transit, poor air quality, lacklustre city planning etc… Why live out there. Well back in the day residents would say the city is full of junkies and crime. Well now you got it in the suburbs. Believe it or not you’ll have more crime out there than within city limits soon enough.

Welcome to paradise asshats.
