Vancouver-shot Smallville is coming to an end after a decade of chronicling comic-book-hero Superman’s rise. Tons of Vancouver locales have been used throughout the duration of the series, many so obvious you don’t even have to live here to know they’re from our fine city.
These have included the Marine building, downtown library, VAG, BC Place, Water Street, and the entire Van skyline. The suburbs, especially Cloverdale, were heavily used.
This truly is the end of an era. The series started from the humble beginnings of Clark Kent trying to discover who he was, growing up on a farm. There were a ton of storylines, villains, Vancouverite Kristin Kreuk, and superpowers.
Fast forward ten seasons and Kent is possibly marrying his love Lois Lane (Vancouverite Erica Durance) with villains Lex Luthor and Darseid in the mix. It is said to end “bittersweet” according to MTV.
I just hope Superman flies!
