Succession planning for family businesses with CEO of T&T Supermarket, Tina Lee

Recently, Vikram VijBrian Scudamore and Andrew Sheperd presented at Small Business BC’s Local Leader Series resulting in each event sold out with 200 people. Tina Lee, CEO at T&T Supermarket Inc., is the final Local Leaders Speaker and will share her journey of taking over the reins of Canada’s largest supermarket chain and her goals to evolve the business at the Local Leaders small business mixer on Thursday, July 16 at Small Business BC in Vancouver.

Lee is the daughter of T&T’s Founder, Cindy Lee, who announced her retirement earlier this year. She grew up on the West Coast, watching her mother grow the business from one store in Richmond to over 20 stores today. During her exclusive presentation, Lee will discuss:

  • Taking on the family business: My journey with T&T Supermarket
  • Understanding the Asian community and consumer
  • Overcoming challenges of developing new customer bases
  • Never losing your roots: Being an ambassador of Asian food and culture

Between April and July, the series includes Vikram Vij, Owner of Vij’s, Rangoli and My Shanti (April 2); Brian Scudamore, Founder and CEO of 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, You Move Me and WOW 1 DAY PAINTING (May 7); Andrew Shepherd, Founder of Vancouver Island Salt Co. (June 4); and Tina Lee, CEO, T & T Supermarket (July 16). These presenters will cover important focus areas for small business owners, such as overcoming adversity, HR practices, scaling-up for international trade and succession planning.
