Slave Lake Fundraiser at Railway Club

I’m sure that majority of you are aware already that a little town in Northern Alberta was devastated by a wildfire earlier this month. Seven thousand residents of Slave Lake, Alberta were evacuated and 40% of the town has been destroyed. While residents are finally home, their home doesn’t look the same, many have lost their homes and businesses. They have a long road of rebuilding ahead.

To help with the fundraising and rebuilding process, a few former Slave Lake residents are organizing a charity event in support of the Canadian Red Cross. On Thursday (June 2), the Railway Club is playing host to ‘We’re all from Slave Lake’ – a night of music, with a silent auction and Stanely Park beer, with all proceeds raised going directly to the Canadian Red Cross’ Slave Lake disaster relief efforts.

What: We’re all from Slave Lake
Where: Railway Club, 579 Dunsmuir Street, Vancouver
Date: June 2nd, 2011
