UPDATED: Bus bridge replacing much of the Millennium Line due to technical issues

UPDATE at 2:58 pm: The technical issue has been fixed. Regular service is resuming.

UPDATE at 2:06 pm: The service disruptions on the Millennium Line have widened, stretching from VCC-Clark Station in Vancouver to Burquitlam Station in Coquitlam. There is no train service on this segment at this time.

Due to the impact, the Expo Line between Braid Station and Lougheed Town Centre Station is not running.

Bus bridge shuttles have been formed between VCC-Clark and Burquitlam stations, and between Braid and Lougheed Town Centre stations. Passengers transferring from the Expo Line to the Millennium Line at Lougheed Town Centre must transfer buses.

ORIGINAL STORY at 12:18 pm:

SkyTrain’s Millennium Line is currently experiencing significant service disruptions due to a technical issue.

According to TransLink, the service disruptions have temporarily ceased train service between VCC-Clark Station and Holdom Station. A bus bridge shuttle service is replacing this westernmost segment of the Millennium Line route, with trains turning back at Holdom Station.

The disruptions began shortly after 11 pm. There is no indication when service will resume.

This is the second major service disruption to SkyTrain in recent days, after a fire inside the Expo Line’s downtown tunnel on May 23.
