Multiple SkyTrain stations closed due to Wednesday morning fire

SkyTrain service on the Millennium Line is being significantly disrupted this morning due to an early morning fire, according to TransLink.
At 5:45 a.m., TransLink announced that a Bus Bridge would replace Millennium Line service at Gilmore Station, located in Burnaby at the intersection of Dawon Street and Gilmore Avenue.
In a second update posted shortly after 6 a.m., the transportation authority revealed that Millennium Line service at Gilmore Station was halted.
TransLink has since confirmed that Gilmore, Rupert, and Brentwood stations are currently closed due to a fire on Wednesday morning.

“Millennium Line customers travelling eastbound will have to transfer to bus service at Renfrew Station. Customers travelling westbound will have to transfer to bus service at Holdom Station.”
TransLink added that Expo and Canada Lines are unaffected and providing regular service.
“TransLink is conducting a thorough investigation of infrastructure. The station will reopen once the investigation is complete and the infrastructure has been cleared for operation.”
A Burnaby resident posted a video on X earlier this morning of what they describe as a “fire under Gilmore SkyTrain station.”
Fire under Gilmore skytrain station. Woke up hearing an alarm going off and heard the flames crackling from inside my apartment across the street. No idea what’s actually on fire yet. https://t.co/wWQU26CPPy

“No bus yet. They say any minute. Now 7:02 a.m., maybe 2,000 [people] in line.”
