Collectible SkyTrain brick-building kits made of LEGO return, now including Canada Line cars

Back by popular demand, Heritage Bricks is producing a 2026 run of its miniature brick-building kits made from real LEGO, featuring SkyTrain cars.
In Fall 2025, TransLink and Heritage Bricks released an initial limited-edition SkyTrain Generations Building Kit series, showcasing all four generations of trains used on the Expo and Millennium lines: the Mark I, Mark II, Mark III, and the new generation Mark V cars. No kits for the Canada Line cars were created for this initial run.
At the time, only 700 kits were produced — 175 of each model — and they completely sold out online in pre-sale in under 48 hours. Buyers picked up their kits about two weeks before Christmas 2025. The initial release was also timed to coincide with SkyTrain’s 40th anniversary in December 2025.

Now, a second edition of all four kits is being prepared. The last day to order online is Feb. 27, 2026, with pickup scheduled for this summer, between June 20 and July 14, 2026.
In addition, as a part of this Summer 2026 run, Heritage Bricks will be offering — for the first time ever — a brick-building kit of the unique train cars used on the Canada Line, manufactured by South Korea’s Hyundai Rotem.

Owning all five kits, including the Canada Line, would complete the entire SkyTrain collectible set. Although it operates on a standalone system, the Canada Line is officially branded by TransLink as part of the SkyTrain network, and it is commonly mistakenly not associated for being a SkyTrain line by some members of the public.
Each kit can be purchased on Heritage Bricks’ website at a cost of $78.00 plus tax. Purchasing all five would total $390.00 plus tax.
Each kit includes not only a detailed train car, but also a section of track and a station platform with overhead signage — all made using genuine LEGO bricks. Every model also features a detailed interior. The platform, which doubles as a display stand, includes a label identifying the train model and its original year of manufacture.
Other brick-building kits that are currently in stock on Heritage Bricks’ website entail spring and fall editions of the “Vancouver Special” single-family detached house.
Last week, just in time for Fan Expo Vancouver, TransLink also released limited-edition collectible Compass Cards themed after the iconic Canadian comic book character Captain Canuck.
