Traffic along Marine Drive in South Vancouver is a mess this morning as around 2 p.m. on Sunday the road collapsed, creating a large sinkhole just west of Fraser Street. Thankfully no one was hurt. The sinkhole was measured to be 9 metres.
Drivers are asked to use Fraser or Main for detours. Also Kent Avenue would be a good option, however, since it’s only one lane expect it to be heavily congested.
The sinkhole has also affected the transit loop on Marine Drive between Fraser and St. George. Check with Translink for alternatives.
More on this as it develops…
