Victoria's Silk Road Tea now open in Kitsilano

Victoria’s tea master Daniela Cubelic has brought her award-wining Silk Road Tea to Vancouver’s Kitislano neighbourhood. Opening a 2000-square-foot retail location that includes a tea tasting bar, education centre, and workshop studio, this new storefront on West 4th will set tea lovers’ hearts aflutter.

Cubelic tells Daily Hive visitors to the new shop will find “a fun, interactive, educational, and sensory experience.”

“Whether you’re a tea connoisseur, tea lover, or newbie to tea, there is something for everyone to enjoy,” Cubelic remarks.

The initial line-up of tea offerings at the Kitsilano store is comprised of over 100 teas, including a collection of 20-plus new teas Silk Road recently launched in celebration of the new Vancouver store opening.

In addition to the unique, 100 per cent organic, locally-blended teas (available from self-serve tins) customers will have the opportunity to discover gorgeous teaware they haven’t seen elsewhere.

Also available, a tea-inspired skin and body-care line. “We’re not just a tea store,” says Cubelic. “We make our own line of organic skincare and body care products as well,” Cubelic adds.

As to be expected, food is not the priority at Silk Road, however, the store does offer some unique seasonal take-home treats, like caramels infused with Silk Road’s London Fog tea. Depending on the season, customers might find tea-infused marshmallows, tea-infused jellies, chocolates, or even salt. Silk Road even has a tea-infused tonic water for sale.

While Silk Road is not a tea cafe or tea room, it does have seating at the tasting bar and regular style seats in the tea workshop area, but its primary focus is for tea tasting sessions and workshops rather than seating. Silk Road customers can order tea to-go.

Silk Road is open Monday to Saturday 10 am to 7 pm, and Sundays 10 am to 6 pm.
