RCMP in Richmond are investigating what appears to have been a violent road rage incident that involved the use of firearms.

The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. Monday evening near the intersection of Garden City Road and Westminster Highway. The driver of one vehicle fired a gun at the 22-year-old driver of a white Toyota Corolla. He was not injured.

A male driver in a dark-coloured sedan was seen driving quickly away from the scene at the time of the incident.

The roadway was shut down last night as investigators searched the area for evidence.
