Abbotsford shooting death appears to be "targeted hit": IHIT

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is appealing to the public after the apparent targetted shooting of a man in Abbotsford last week.

According to investigators, on Friday, July 10, at 7:49 pm, reports came in of shots fired at a residence in the 2700-block of Lucern Crescent. Officers arrived to find a 43-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds

Karmjit Sran succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police say and te Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took over the investigation.

“In these early stages of the investigation, we know that the victim was known to police and that this shooting has all the hallmarks of a targeted hit,” Sergeant Frank Jang of IHIT said in a release. “We are working hard to determine motive.”

Currently, investigators are asking for dashcam video from drivers who may have been in the area on the evening of July 10. For individuals who were in the area of  Taylor Road between Mount Lehman Road and Ross Road, Ross Road to 56 Avenue, or 56 Avenue to the 264 Street exit in Langley between 7 pm and 8:30 pm on the date in question and have any footage, police ask that you contact them.
