A shooting Thursday night in Burnaby may be linked to a recent string of similar shootings in Surrey.
RCMP in Burnaby were called shortly before 10 p.m. to investigate shots fired on 6th Street between 16th and 18th Avenues, authorities confirmed with the Sun.
At the scene were several shell casings.

An investigation is underway into the incident, and the Burnaby RCMP indicates they are speaking with the Surrey RCMP to determine if there is a connection between Thursday night’s gunfire and a recent series of shootings in Surrey.
This week there has been a total of six shootings in Surrey, which has many area residents alarmed about the level of violence in such a concentrated period of time, according to the Now.
There are no known victims in the Burnaby shooting, and authorities say it has been difficult to locate witnesses, since the area is comprised largely of low-rise industrial buildings.
