Shane Bieber is staying put.
The 30-year-old former Cy Young Award winner has reportedly picked up the $16 million option in his contract, keeping him a member of the Toronto Blue Jays for another season.
Jon Heyman of the New York Post broke the news Tuesday night.

Bieber must have enjoyed his time in Toronto, given that he could have become a free agent.
As a trade-deadline acquisition, the Blue Jays took a bit of a gamble on Bieber. He hadn’t pitched in over a calendar year due to injury.
But after a quick stint in Triple-A Buffalo, Bieber was back in the majors and showed well in seven regular-season starts with Toronto. He started four more games in the postseason, with the Blue Jays winning three of them.
