High-risk sex offender Gary Vogrig arrested in Stanley Park

The Vancouver Police Department announced Thursday morning the second arrest of a high-risk sex offender at loose in Vancouver after not returning to his half-way house.

Shortly before 7 p.m. on Wednesday, 51-year-old Gary Vogrig, two time federal offender charged with uttering threats, assault, sexual assault, unlawful confinement and robbery, was observed drinking near Second Beach in Stanley Park. Police arrested him without incident.

Last week, police captured 46-year-old Richard Galt in Abbotsford. Investigators continue the search for 48-year-old Timothy Daniel Jones and 46-year-old Gerald Richard McLean who are both wanted Canada-wide.
