Seth Rogen calls US Senator Ted Cruz a "white supremacist fascist" in Twitter exchange

Seth Rogen and Senator Ted Cruz went viral on Wednesday evening following a heated exchange on Twitter.

After being sworn in as the 46th president of the United States, Joe Biden signed 17 executive actions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, providing economic relief, tackling climate change, and advancing racial equity.

Cruz quickly criticized the actions, including Biden’s decision to rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement.

“Biden indicates he’s more interested in the views of the citizens of Paris than in the jobs of the citizens of Pittsburgh,” Cruz wrote on Twitter. “This agreement will do little to affect the climate and will harm the livelihoods of Americans.”

Contrary to Cruz’s tweet, the Paris Climate Agreement has little to do with the citizens of Paris. It is a legally binding international treaty on climate change. It was signed by 196 Parties at COP 21 in Paris in 2015. Former President Donald Trump withdrew the US from the agreement in 2017.

Hollywood funnyman and Vancouver native Rogen was swift and blunt to respond to Cruz, tweeting “F*ck off you fascist.”

Sarcastically calling it a “civil, educated response,” Cruz argued that the Democrat party is detrimental to union members, or those who work in energy and manufacturing.

Rogen responded telling Cruz to “encourage a white supremacist insurrection,” likely referencing when a group of violent Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol earlier this month.

Rogen also addressed the comments of political advisor and entrepreneur Blair Brandt, pointing out attempts by the Republican Party to overturn the results of the presidential election.
