Butlers in the Buff, a ‘male order’ service usually used for birthday parties and bachelorettes, is coming to Burrard Street on April 2 to hand out free Easter treats.
Local Vancouver ‘Butlers’, Levi and Clem, will be posted outside the Burrard SkyTrain station on Thursday to hand out Easter chocolates and kick off the holiday weekend. The men will be semi-naked with a white collar, bow tie, white cuffs and Easter bunny accessories. While they usually go bottom-less except for a skimpy apron, the men will be wearing black dress pants on Thursday.
Company Director, Jennifer Didcott brought the Easter concept over from the U.K. two years ago.
“We just wanted to spread the word that Butlers in the Buff are here in Vancouver and thought it would be nice to give local ladies a treat a midst all the doom and gloom we hear in the news every day. We want to make people happy; male or female, our butlers always raise a smile.”
The company has been so successful in the U.K. over the past 13 years that it has now reached Canada, the U.S., Australia and South Africa. The service provides Butlers “in the truest sense of the world”, says Didcott, adding that the good looking and muscular men will make and serve drinks and food at parties
Local Butler, Clem, says he loves the job. “I serve drinks to guests at parties and chat to the ladies, wearing the little outfit and in a couple of hours I earn more than in a eight hour shift at a bar job. The parties are can be for any reason including; birthdays or bachelorettes and even baby showers; it’s just a little bit of fun. It’s about time there was something like this for women to be spoilt!”
You will be able to find them on the corner of Melville and Burrard St. and Burrard and Georgia St. from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., April 2.
