The Seattle Seahawks seek to win back-to-back championships this Sunday as they go head to head with the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 49.

In celebration of the team’s success, and sheer luck in the NFC Championship game, some of Metro Vancouver’s city councils have decided to show their Seahawks fever by raising the “12 Flag” on Friday, January 30, also known as Blue Friday.
The jersey number 12 has been retired by the Seahawks organization, an ode to the passionate fan base. Before every home game at CenturyLink Field, a 12 Flag is raised. It’s also estimated that 10 per cent of attendees at home games are Canadian.
When: Friday, January 30 at 10:12 a.m.
Where: Ceremonial Flag Pole, North Side of City Hall – 453 West 12th Avenue
When: Friday, January 30 at noon, flag raising at 12:12 p.m.
Where: BC Lions Head Office & Practice Facility – 10605 135 Street
The City of Victoria also took part in the festivities by raising the 12 Flag this afternoon across the lawns at the BC Legislature.
