This Easter long weekend, Seasons Festival celebrates its fifth anniversary. The festival has been growing exponentially and spreading throughout many different genres of music throughout the years.

The entire festival now spans 19 events, featuring 37 artists in seven venues throughout Vancouver. This year, BlueprintLIVE worked hard to bring the best in alternative music all across their venues with Bear Mountain, P Reign, Yelle, Hayden James and Bonobo.

Certain music makes you feel younger. It’s something more than nostalgia; a joyous enthusiasm that gives you the sensation of being young. Bear Mountain gives you these feelings with their heart-pumping, smile-widening freedom – parsing the elements of dozens of genres together into a vast of soulful indie electronic music. They take the stage at Celebrities with Hybridity’s Sabota and indie pop artists Chersea.

P Reign with DKay, Ghost and Juvi Dizzle (April 4 at Fortune Sound Club)

Having overcome intense diversity and unthinkable family tribulations, including gun violence and incarceration, P Reign stands proud as a testament to the Canadian rap game. With his latest release, Dear America, written towards his struggle with being trapped in Canada, P Reign prevails as a break out OVO affiliate  supported by the likes of Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR and ASAP Rocky. Catch him alongside local talents DKay, Ghost and Juvi Dizzle on April 4.

Yelle with Hibou (April 5 at Fortune Sound Club)

French pop sensation Yelle come from very humble beginnings. Starting with their hilarious satirical response the stereotypical misogynist lyrics forwarded by French rap bands in Je Veus Te Voir, Yelle has created an outlook of the fun-loving, anything goes left-field pop attitude. They bring their eclectic sound to the stage with Seattle electro pop band Hibou.

Hayden James with Prince Sho, Vinnie The Squid and Christa Belle (April 5 at MIA)

We give you the Permission to Love with Hayden James, Sydney-based producer that has perfected a delectable mash up of house and disco grooves. He retains a human essences with warm and sensual production within all of his music, speaking volumes to the future he has in the electronic world. With Pete Tong labeling James’ as one to watch for 2015, this Australian talent has shown his bravado in the electronic world. Don’t miss your chance to see him in Vancouver’s newest venue M.I.A. alongside locals Prince Sho, Vinnie The Squid and Christa Belle.

Bonobo with Dubconscious ( April 5 at VENUE)

For over fifteen years downtempo pioneer Bonobo has been innovating the dance music scene and reimagining what it means to become immersed by a truly live set. His music hones to special kind of electronic, where the track begins as densely layered, moody affairs, caught up in themselves and the past. It’s only in the final minute of so that the underlying instrumentals are allowed to sing, and when they do the track finally feels alive in the present moment. Prepare your ears as Bonobo takes you under his trance in an exclusive DJ set and all-around ethereal experience that is largely vacant in Vancouver’s music scene. Don’t miss this unique musical reality as he takes the stage at VENUE alongside local hero Dubconscious.

The curation of #SEASONS2015 brings together an unique blend of talented artists and musical experiences. From live dance music, to rap, and back to pop, all musical palettes will be tasted over the long weekend. Grab your tickets while you still can at SEASONSFESTIVAL.COM and BPLIVE.CA.
