Blueprint announces full SEASONS Festival lineup

Dec 19 2017, 9:54 pm

Blueprint has announced the full line-up and details around the 5th annual SEASONS Festival. Spanning over five days, from April 1 to 5, SEASONS will offer performances featuring top talent at venues across the city, including the Pacific Coliseum and their new Gastown space, M.I.A.. With the goal to showcase the city as a global destination for cultural events, this year’s festival sees itself broadening its core focus on electronic music to include interactive technology, art and community outreach.

Additionally, in a move that introduces an immersive experience to festival-goers, guests will now have the ability to attend every event across the city within the five days through the purchase of a single festival wristband.

Along with an expanded variety of programming drawing upon multiple genres of hotly tipped and emerging acts in dance music, SEASONS Festival’s flagship Pacific Coliseum event, produced in partnership with Live Nation Canada, will grow to span two days.

Day One, held on April 3, will feature headlining sets from Mad Decent impresario and world-renowned tastemaker Diplo. Day Two, held on April 4, will see the legendary Swedish producer Eric Prydz take the stage. Each day will also feature a colourful supporting cast of artists, including Dillon Francis, Robin Schulz, Alison Wonderland, Grandtheft and Carnage, Cashmere Cat and Scndl, respectively.

SEASON’s city-wide club events will also feature more genres of dance music, live electronica and hip hop performances with over 20 additional acts, including 3lau, AC Slater, Amine Edge & Dance, Bonobo, Carmada, Cyril Hahn, David Gravell, Heatbeat, Lee Foss, P Reign, Pegboard Nerds, Shift K3y, Slow Jam Sundays, Sound Remedy and more, plus multi artist label showcases with Vancouver based Monstercat, L.A.’s Night Bass and others.

Invested into a long-term vision of integrating technology and artistry into the core philosophy of the festival experience, Blueprint will see SEASONS 2015 expose festival-goers to immersive visual experiences. A state of the art mobile app from Vancouver based developer EventBase (whose clients include the Olympics and SXSW) will act as the go-to guide for everything festival related, providing timely and valuable connections with festival-goers throughout the week, through interaction with geographically placed beacons across the city. Interactive multimedia art activations from locally based Hybridity Media’s Generate App will also be featured at select events, bridging the worlds of technology and art, and featuring curators from the Vancouver arts community.

“Technology and art have always gone hand in hand with electronic music culture, and we see bringing these important additions to the festival resulting in a deeper connection with a broader audience,” said Blueprint principal Alvaro Prol.

SEASONS for charity

Highlighting Blueprint’s commitment to the city that has supported it for 18 years, this year’s SEASONS Festival will include a central charitable component where one dollar per every SEASONS ticket sold will be donated to the Vancouver Food Bank. Festival-goers will also be encouraged to donate on their own with every ticket transaction, where the largest donation submission will be rewarded with a premium Blueprint Events prize package.

The company will also be collaborating with local organization, “Feed The People,” which helps clothe and feed residents of the downtown east side.

Five-day wristbands for SEASONS Festival will be available for purchase on Tuesday, February 10 at 11 a.m., in addition to all single event tickets. The Pacific Coliseum shows will be the only events to admit all ages. More information on the events can be found at www.seasonsfestival.com.
