Sears Building Finally Gets a Wash

Dec 19 2017, 12:03 pm

Last night while I was walking home after the Canucks 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues I noticed a rare sight. A sight so rare it only comes around one every decade, they were finally cleaning the ugliest building in the downtown core, yes folks I’m talking about the Sears building. Just in time for the Olympics.

I think in addition to the wash job they should cover it up with Olympic banners (just like The Bay across the street) and after the Olympics have come and gone other advertising billboards should be placed (on the Granville Street side) and a mural of some sort on the side facing the Vancouver Art Gallery (VAG).

Me thinks had it not been for the Olympics perhaps we would have waited another decade before the owners of this monstrosity coughed up the dough to clean that damn building. Would you agree this is the ugliest building in Downtown or can you name some others?
