The search for a missing hiker in West Vancouver has been called off following an “exhaustive” search by North Shore Rescue.

The West Vancouver Police Department says 65-year-old Debbie Blair was separated from her group while hiking on Cypress Mountain on September 29. She was last seen at Donut Rock trail junction.

Ground and air rescue operations were deployed, and every area that could be safely accessed on the mountain was scoured for signs of Blair. Fifty volunteers and helicopters aided in the search, but the decision to suspend the search was made late on Saturday.

Blair is caucasian, 5’4″, 130 pounds, with short, brown-grey hair. She was wearing blue and white runners, white cotton pants, a blue baseball hat, and a light t-shirt.

North Shore Rescue has no plans to restart the operation unless new information surfaces about where Blair could be.

If you’ve seen Blair since Thursday, call the West Vancouver Police Department at 604-925-7300.
