UPDATE at 8:45 p.m. – The police incident has cleared and SeaBus is resuming regular service.
EARLIER:
North Vancouver’s Lonsdale Quay Seabus terminal has been evacuated due to a suspicious package on the Burrard Beaver vessel.
RCMP and Transit Police are on scene and have evacuated the terminal. Thorough sweeps are being performed on all the terminals and vessels in operation.
Seabus service has been temporarily suspended. Buses are stopping just outside the Lonsdale Quay station.
Bus shuttles have been deployed to take riders between terminals until normal service resumes, which is not expected until late this evening at the very earliest.
Expect delays of up to an hour with the use of the bus shuttles.
