Temporary changes coming to SeaBus schedule starting next week

TransLink has announced that there will temporary changes to the SeaBus schedule starting next week.

Starting on Monday, February 3, 2020, peak sailings will take place every 15 minutes, as opposed to 10 minutes. During this time, crews will be completing maintenance and repairs on one of TransLink’s SeaBus vessels, the Burrard Otter II. 

Peak times include sailings between 7 to 10 am and 3 to 7 pm.

“The Burrard Otter II will have propulsion system repairs completed while it is out of service,” said TransLink. “This work takes several days and requires the vessel to be dry-docked.”

The temporary schedule change is expected to last for a week. Regular service, aka 10-minute peak sailing times, is scheduled to return before February 10, 2020.

TransLink also notes that the new Burrard Chinook is scheduled to enter service this year. Upon its arrival, the company will have an extra vehicle to use in the case of extended or unplanned maintenance.
