Recently, The Network Hub decided to turn their coworking space into an art gallery to support & exhibit up and coming local artists. With feedback from the community about reduced funds that limited exposure of local artists, the co-founders of The Network Hub were determined to help out. Since they already created a platform for entrepreneurs, they chose to take on a new roll by hosting exhibits local artists. The mission was to become The Artwork Hub – a monthly artist showcase.

The call for artists came quickly after, and resulted in a bundle of submissions. The curator of The Artwork Hub decided to debut the exhibit with local street artist Scott Sueme. You’ve probably already seen his work; he recently did an impressive collaborative mural on the side of the Moda Hotel on Seymour and Smithe back in March.

Scott’s work is composed of bold colours and subtle textures and shows his polished work with experimental compounds from his dynamic graffiti background. His work has given him a nomination for Best Street Artist at the Urban Culture Conference + Awards. You can vote for him here, under Arts – Street Art.

Scott Sueme’s showcase will be at The Network Hub until May 31 with viewings between 9am and 5pm on weekdays and by appointment during after hours. There will be no charge for the exhibition and no commission is taken on any art pieces sold. 100% of the money generated will go back to the artist, but The Network Hub does encourage each artist to donate 10% of the sales to a charity.
