Vancouver Police is investigating the city’s fourth traffic fatality of 2015 following the death of a scooter rider.

On Saturday at approximately 2:45 p.m., a SUV traveling north on Hawks Avenue and crossing East Cordova Street collided with a two wheel electric scooter going eastbound on the arterial road.

The scooter rider suffered serious injuries from the collision and was rushed to hospital. Earlier today, the scooter rider succumbed to his injuries.

Police say the SUV driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Speed, alcohol and distracted driving do not appear to be factors in the incident.
