Everything you need to know about the 16th annual Vancouver Santa Claus Parade
Santa Claus is coming to town!
Gather the family and enjoy one of Vancouver’s largest holiday events – the 16th annual TELUS presents the Vancouver Santa Claus Parade on Sunday, December 1, 2019!
Event organizers say that more than 300,000 spectators are expected to show up for this year’s event and that the parade will include over 2,500 participants, 40 floats, marching bands, dance troupes, choirs, and community groups.
Start the morning off with Breakfast with Santa at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver from 8:30 to 10:30 am. Enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet complete with a chef-attended pancake and waffle station, hot chocolate station, and children activities. There will also be an exclusive meet and greet with Santa including a keepsake photo.
Then head over to Christmas Square at the Vancouver Art Gallery plaza square between 10 am and 12 noon for free family activities. There will be face painting, crafts and activities for the children, a Letters to Santa station and parade Charity Partner booths to explore.
The main event begins at 12 pm, with the parade winding its way through Vancouver’s downtown core; starting at West Georgia Street and Broughton Street, ultimately ending at Howe and Davie streets.
Afterwards, make your way to TELUS Garden for TELUS Photos With Santa from 2 to 4 pm. Photos are free, and there will also be hot chocolate, cookies, and activities for the whole family.
The TELUS presents Vancouver Santa Claus Parade is also one of the larger food and fundraising events for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. Spectators at this year’s parade are encouraged to bring a monetary or a nutritious, non-perishable food donation for the Food Bank. Since 2004, attendees have donated $214,800 and 77,750 lbs. of food for families in need in Vancouver, New Westminster, Burnaby, and the North Shore.
