Sunday December 4th is the annual Vancouver Christmas Parade aka Roger’s Santa Claus Parade. With nearly 300,000 spectators, expect downtown Vancouver to be a hive of family fun that day. This year features a new route and with that comes new road closures. The following areas will experience road closures and heavy traffic.

700-1000 W. Hastings St., From Howe St. to Thurlow Street.
700-1000 W. Pender St. from Howe St. to Thurlow St.
700-1000 Dunsmuir St., From Howe St. to Thurlow St. (You can still access the Hyatt via Melville)
700-1400 W. Georgia St., From Pender St. to Howe St.
300-700 Burrard St., from W. Cordova to Robson St.
500-700 Thurlow St., from Melville St. to Robson St.
500-700 Jervis St., from Melville St. to Robson St.
500-700 Bute St., from Melville St. to Robson St.

The road closures will be in effect from 10:30 am to approximately 5pm. As stated earlier, your best bet is to take transit and leave the car at home. After the parade is over, check out Robson Square for free public Ice Skating.
