Foldable phones seem so 2002, but Samsung has officially brought them back in a truly innovative way.
Today Samsung announced the Galaxy Fold.
The Fold combines a powerful smartphone and a tablet — something that has never been seen before.
It has a 4.6-inch display when folded and then opens up to a 7.3-inch infinity display when it turns into a tablet.
To make this happen, the phone is equipped with a hidden hinge system that allows the phone to open and close smoothly.
The Fold comes with six cameras: three on the back, two in the inside, and one in the front.
As for the processing system, the Fold has 521GB of Universal Flash Storage. As well, the Fold has a 7nm processor and 12GB of RAM.
It is also equipped with the ability to run with three apps at once and app continuity. Meaning when you unfold the phone, everything expands into a bigger display.
The Fold is priced at $1,980 USD. A Canadian release has not been announced. It is available in 5G and LTE.
Samsung also announced the new Galaxy s10e, S10, and S10+.
The S10 comes with an advanced display. The s10 screen covers the entire front of the phone and the sides.
Samsung utilized a precise laser cutting process in order to tuck the camera discretely away within the display without sacrificing photo quality.
The phone comes with the world’s first Infinity O-Display and the world’s first Dynamic AMOLED screen, which is HDR10+ certified. This means the S10 provides peak brightness and 16 million colours.
The S10 is equipped with five lenses in total.
There is a Telephoto Camera for zooming, a wide-angle camera to capture everyday moments, as well as an Ultra-Wide Camera for panoramic landscapes.
The S10e, S10, and S10+ are equipped with 24-hour Intelligent Battery power.
The S10+ comes with 4100mAh (typical) battery capacity. The S10 has 3400mAh (typical) and Galaxy S10e has 3100mAh (typical) battery capacity.
If you don’t have a charger on you, Samsung has got you covered. The Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10+ devices have been engineered to charge Qi-certified devices and some Samsung wearable devices like a wireless charger.
All you have to do is place the device on your phone and no cables are needed.
The Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10+ come with internal storage of 1TB. You can add another 512GB via microSD card for up to 1.5TB of storage.
You’ll be able to listen to music and audio with ease thanks to the Galaxy Buds. The Buds connect to S10e, S10 and S10+ devices and offer a supreme listening experience.
They come with AKG Enhanced Ambient Sound, which allows you to control what you hear while the earbuds are in your ears.
The Buds are also built with an Adaptive Dual Microphone, which uses one inner microphone and one outer microphone in each earbud.
They are built to keep up with you all day long, with the ability to take up to six hours of Bluetooth streaming and up to five hours of calls.
