On June 5, 2010 the BC Lung Association will launch the first annual Rush: Race and Urban Scavenger Hunt (www.rushvancouver.ca) – think of it like a one day version of TVs Amazing Race in the streets of Vancouver.
The Rush is not your ordinary event – it is a challenge unlike anything in Lung Association history! TEAMS OF 2 will scour the city of Vancouver as part of an EPIC, 1 DAY RACE and urban SCAVENGER HUNT. Teams will run, walk and use public transit, racing to complete their Checkpoint Challenges within the 6 hour time limit. Teams will decipher clues to help them complete a predetermined number of CHECKPOINT CHALLENGES at UNKNOWN LOCATIONS throughout the city.
Teams can use a nearly limitless array of resources (friends, family, internet …) to help them get to and complete their next Checkpoint Challenge. Checkpoint Challenges consist of tasks that will TEST TEAMS’ LIMITS both MENTALLY and PHYSICALLY while also being FUN and ENTERTAINING. The first team to complete the required number of Checkpoint Challenges and cross the finish lines wins a trip for two around the world. THE RUSH is about more than crossing the finish line – it is about the JOURNEY and the chance to SAVE lives and CHANGE your own!
