It was a disappointing day for Canada on the field on Day 2 of the World Rugby Sevens at BC Place on Sunday.
First, they were beaten handily by South Africa (36-7) in the quarter-finals. Then, they narrowly lost (12-5) to Argentina in the fifth-place semi-final, ending their tournament.
Overall, not a bad showing for our country, that advanced further than they did at last year’s tournament.
Of course, off the field of play was a tremendous success once again. More than 38,000 spectators showed up on Saturday and Sunday, providing a raucous atmosphere.
