Limited time parking changes at Rocky Point Park begins this Friday

With the summer peak season just around the corner, the City of Port Moody is adjusting the allowable duration of vehicle parking at Rocky Point Park starting this Friday, April 30, 2021.
The new restrictions at the popular waterfront park apply to both the main parking lot off Murray Street next to the Rocky Point Pool and the secondary lot off Esplanade Avenue next to The Boathouse restaurant, from 7 am to 11 pm daily.
Additionally, no overnight parking will be permitted.

This is a change from the current policies of parking restricted to four hours from 7 am to 7 pm at the main lot, and two hours over 24 hours for the secondary lot.
“The new restrictions are being implemented to increase turnover, help provide more equitable access to the park, and create consistency between the two lots. There is no change to parking regulations for the boat launch parking area,” reads a bulletin from the municipal government today.
Signs will be updated at both parking lots ahead of the changes. Anyone found in violation may be ticketed $100 and/or towed.
