Robson and Granville circa 1969

Before the ugly white monstrosity, aka the current Sears building, was constructed this is what the corner of Robson and Granville looked like. Granville and Robson was a lot more interesting before the arrival of Sears. There was actually stores fronting Granville Street, something missing with the current and new Nordstrom proposal for Vancouver.

In 2015, Robson and Granville will look like this:

Light years ahead of what is there currently, however, anything is better than what is there currently. The new proposal by Cadillac Fairview is still devoid of store front access on Granville Street. Also it looks as though very little lighting and advertising will be placed on the large glass canvas that fronts the city’s entertainment district.
