A weapons fight that occurred after a suspected road rage incident on Tuesday afternoon landed four men and one woman in custody and sent a 42-year-old man to hospital.

Around 4 pm, Vancouver Police responded to “several” 911 calls reporting a group of people fighting in the area of East 51st Avenue and Inverness Street.

The situation was believed to be the result of a road rage incident.

VPD Const. Jason Doucette told Daily Hive that officers arrived on the scene and initially took four men and one woman into custody.

“Based on the information collected at the scene, two Vancouver men, aged 22 and 18, were arrested, transported to jail, and later released pending further investigation,” Doucette said.

The 42-year-old victim, a Vancouver resident, was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The other people involved were released without charges.
