RCMP seek person of interest in suspicious incident at Richmond elementary school

Police in Richmond have released a sketch of the suspect involved in a suspicious incident at a field near Whiteside Elementary School.

The incident occurred shortly before 11:30 am on Wednesday, November 15 when a 10-year-old student was allegedly grabbed on her arm by a male in his 40s or 50s. At the time, the student was running a lap.

Prior to the incident, the male was allegedly photographing the area with his cell phone.

Richmond RCMP described the man as:

  • Asian
  • Between 40 and 50 years old
  • 5’7 to 5’10 in height
  • Medium build
  • Black hair
  • Clean shaven
  • Wearing brown pants and a black and blue sweater

Police are asking anyone who may have information on this incident to contact Const. Jason Pickering from the Richmond RCMP Youth Section at 604-278-1212.
