Richmond Night Market lists relics for sale as event nears potential extinction

Most of us have already heard the news that the 2026 Richmond Night Market will be the final one ever.

Now, it appears as though the market is looking to get rid of some of its relics and decorations.

As the night market itself nears its extinction, it recently listed something for sale on Instagram: decorative dinosaurs!

The night market’s final date this year is Sept. 20. According to the Instagram post, there will be more items available for sale throughout the remainder of the season, so if there are decorative pieces from the night market you have your eye on, you might want to keep your eyes glued to the official Instagram account.

Richmond Night Market has not posted a price tag for the dino, but we’ve reached out for more information.

“As we prepare for the closing of Richmond Night Market’s final season, we’re beginning to clear out some of our event decorations and equipment,” the night market said in the post.

The night market said that all of its large dinosaur displays are for sale.

“These are large-scale display pieces, perfect for businesses, attractions, events, or anyone looking for a unique statement piece.”

For folks interested in the dino decor, the market says to contact it at admin@richmondnightmarket.com for “details, pricing, and inquiries.”

“More items from our event inventory will be available as we continue our closing sale,” the market added on Instagram.

For more than a quarter century, the market has grown from a local community event into one of British Columbia’s best-known summertime destinations, drawing millions of visitors with its wide range of food vendors, retail stalls, games, and live entertainment.

Following the market’s closure announcement, many reflected on how the market has changed over the years, particularly growing more expensive. At one point, admission was free; now it’s $7.

Some politicians have suggested they’d attempt to save the market, but whether or not that is feasible remains to be seen.
