18th Annual Grapes, Hops & Bites Festival

What: The Rotary Club of Steveston Wine Festival brings the best-of-the-best wine, beer, food, and entertainment to say thanks for continued support of the Rotary Club’s community. All proceeds go directly to the Steveston Rotary Community Outreach Programs.

Big Screen, Big Impact: Filming in Your Community Open House

What: Drop in to this free event for Richmond merchants and residents to learn more about the economic benefits of film, location filming best practices, how to host a film production in your home, and more. Representatives from Creative BC, the Directors Guild of Canada, The Location Managers Guild International and city staff will be on site to answer questions and discuss filming matters.

London Heritage Farm Mother’s Day Tea

What: Celebrate Mother’s Day with high tea in the Tea Room at London Heritage Farm. A popular annual event for mothers, grandmothers, and their families. Enjoy London Farms own blend of London Lady tea, home-baked scones, London Farm jam/jelly, and homemade goodies. Coffee, hot chocolate and juice are also available. Reservations recommended.

Richmond Regional Heritage Fair

What: The 17th annual Richmond Regional Heritage Fair presented by the Richmond Museum not only showcases history projects created by Richmond students, but also offers unique, enriching drop-in activities that inspire a deeper appreciation for and curiosity about Canada’s past. All ages welcome.

Walk Richmond – Railway Greenway Trail

What: Take in this multi-use cycling and walking trail that connects several neighbourhoods to the Fraser River Middle Arm and South Dyke/Steveston waterfronts. Meeting spot: Parking lot at the south end of Railway Avenue and Westwater Drive.

Reading & Book Launch: Amy Fung & Kim Nguyen

What: In celebration of the release of Amy Fung’s new book, Before I Was a Critic I Was a Human Being, the writer will read sections of the book in discussion with writer/curator Kim Nguyen. This debut collection of creative nonfiction stories by Fung takes a closer examination at Canada’s mythologies of multiculturalism, settler colonialism, and identity through the lens of a national art critic. Books will be available for sale at the event. This event is held in partnership with the Richmond Public Library, Brighouse branch at the Richmond Cultural Centre.

Richmond Carvers Society Wood Carving Show

What: Western Canada’s largest carving show, featuring wildlife competitions, including birds, fish, First Nations carving styles, wood turning, auctions, and raffles. Learn all there is to know about carving and see art created before your eyes as carvers showcase their skills. The Greater Vancouver Woodturners Guild will also feature a woodturning section with multiple categories. Food Bank donations are appreciated.

From Bach to Beatles

What: World renown Israeli violin magician Sanya Kroitor and his band will present From Bach to Beatles concert, a unique blend of classical and modern music, with infusion of klezmer, jazz, and folk tunes.

Bob Saget

What: Bob Saget is renowned for his family-friendly work on hit TV shows Full House and America’s Funniest Home Videos, but it’s his unconventional stand-up comedy that he’s bringing to the River Rock Show Theatre. The Grammy-nominated comedian has been entertaining audiences for thirty years with his provocative stand-up comedy, including his HBO special That Ain’t Right to scene-stealing cameos in Entourage and The Aristocrats.
