Richmond Night Market

  • What: This market draws crowds from across the province, who travel to check out the rows on rows of vibrant cuisine along with the diverse line-up of nightly performances on the 50-foot entertainment stage. There will be over 100 food vendors and 200 retail stalls this year.
  • When: Now to Monday, October 8, 2018
  • Time: Fridays and Saturdays from 7 pm to midnight; Sundays and holiday Mondays from 7 to 11 pm
  • Where: 8351 River Road, Richmond (nearby Bridgeport Station)
  • Price: $3.75 (regular admission)

Kwantlen Street Farmers’ Market

  • What: The market offers a rotating selection of food trucks and carts, vendors with local produce, fresh Okanagan fruit, locally brewed beer and BC wines, SPCA certified chicken and eggs, freshly baked French bread and pastries, and natural soap and body care products. There will also be products grown and crafted by local farmers and artisans, highlighting KPU’s own Sustainable Agriculture students.

Doors Open Richmond

  • What: The 11th installment of Doors Open Richmond is a weekend-long, city-wide public celebration of heritage, culture, and the arts. Forty sites with an eclectic and exciting blend of destinations will open their doors and offer culturally rich and inclusive experiences for free. These destinations include heritage sites, museums, places of worship, green spaces, specialty business, art galleries, and artist studios.

Artist Salon with Ho Tam

  • What: A fun and informative workshop on self-publishing. With a diverse background in painting, video, photography, and print-based art, Ho Tam will discuss his experience in everything from editorial and design to production and distribution.

Seniors Week – Over 90s Tea and Celebration

  • What: Celebrate Richmond seniors 90 years of age and over with an afternoon of socializing and recognition of these special Richmond citizens. Caregivers welcome.

  • Time: 1:30 to 3 pm

Lions Club Sockeye Run Car Show

  • What: The 28th Annual Sockeye Run Car Show features classic cars, music and entertainment. There will be Hot Wheels racing in the park, plus a model building workshop for kids with a model contest following. Free parking available at the Steveston Community Centre.

International Wheelchair Rugby Canada Cup 2018

  • What: The world’s top wheelchair rugby teams come to Richmond to battle it out at the 8th Canada Cup International Wheelchair Rugby Tournament. Come cheer on Team Canada as they take on international rivals for the Canada Cup.

40th Annual Pacific Rim Kite Festival

  • What: Join the British Columbia Kitefliers Association for two days of kite flying at Garry Point Park in Richmond. Enjoy individual and team kite demonstrations, Rokkaku kite battles, teddy bear and candy drops, kite flying demonstrations, and more. Children can make their own kite at the Children’s Kite Making Workshop. Rain or shine.

  • What: The Titanic: Artifact Exhibition has been designed to focus on the real, authentic human stories of those who boarded the Titanic and bringing those tales back to life. To help recreate the memories of the passengers, more than 120 authentic pieces from the vessel will be present, as well as extensive re-creations of rooms on the ship.

29th Annual Bullhead Derby

  • What: Spend the morning at Garry Point Park at the Bullhead Derby at beautiful Garry Point park. Pack your fishing gear, including barbless hooks and a picnic basket. It’s a perfect occasion to bring your family for a fun day of fishing. There are two categories: kids 12 and under and seniors 65+.
