Efforts have failed to save a dog that attacked two women in Richmond a few months ago.
The city says Yogi, a Rottweiler-Husky cross, will be euthanized, after a change of heart from the dog’s owner.
The owner had vowed to fight the city’s move, but city spokesman Ted Townsend says things changed at a court hearing earlier this week.
“At that time, the owner changed its position and agreed to surrender the dog to the city, so we now have the ability to move forward with our plans.”
Yogi’s case received international attention, after the dog bit a 21-year-old more than 100 times, leaving her in critical condition.
