Red Truck Beer's brewery opens in East Vancouver

Dec 19 2017, 2:19 pm

On September 27th, Red Truck Beer is celebrating their new location with a literal bang —they’re dropping a red truck from a crane, breaking the first ground on what’s sure to be one of East Van’s hippest breweries. If seeing a vehicle smash to pieces isn’t enough to grab your attention, Red Truck is also offering up a number of great prizes. If you happen to show up to the event in a red truck yourself, a very special prize will be given out —Red Truck Beer tells us it will be worth it. Don’t have a red truck? That’s okay, you’ll still have a chance to win some great prizes! Simply upload your best “Ground Breaking” photo, video or Viddy from the event and Red Truck will pick their favourites.  Here’s how to enter:

Instagram: Upload your photo to Instagram using the hashtag #truckdrop

Viddy: Upload a Viddy using the hashtag #truckdrop

Twitter: Tweet @RedTruckBeer your photo or video and include the hashtag #truckdrop

Winners will be announced Friday September 28th.

Considering Red Truck’s reputation, though, their beer alone is reason enough to venture out. Dave ‘da Brewa’ Varga has been brewing delicious, high-quality lager and ale in North Vancouver since 2004. Customer demand called for a bigger location, so the new Red Truck will be nestled in the heart of ‘Brewery Creek’ on First Avenue. They also plan to serve tasty accompaniments to their beverages by building an adjoining 50’s-style ‘truck stop’ diner. Bottles, cans and kegs will still be delivered fresh from their iconic red trucks, of course.

So, if you’re looking for some excitement this September—with the potential of winning some great prizes, too—stop by Red Truck’s Ground Breaking event. There will be beer tastings, food trucks, a DJ, and the ceremonial truck drop, of course.

The event will take place Thursday, Sept. 27th from 2:46 to 5:46 PM at 315 East 1st Avenue. Whether you’re arriving in retro 50’s swag or simply popping in, make sure not to miss the truck drop—it starts at 4:00 P.M. sharp. To RSVP, visit www.redtruckbeer.com/truckdrop.
