With a temperatures soaring to a record breaking high of 23°C today in Greater Vancouver, people are finally shedding their winter clothes for shorts and t-shirts.

Unfortunately, this temporary heat wave isn’t expected to last through the weekend.

Clouds will begin rolling in Friday morning, keeping things at a cool 14°C while an afternoon breeze will cap temperatures at 20°C in the Vancouver area.

As for the weekend, Saturday will kick off six straight days where we’ll see our familiar friend – rain.

Vancouver’s previous record high for the first of May was 22°C in 1998.
