Mothers in Vancouver will be joining mothers around the world October 3, as they attempt to set a new yearly records for the most mothers breastfeeding at one time.
The event is in support of the 14th annual Quintessence Breastfeeding Challenge, hosted by the Quintessence Foundation, which looks to provide breastfeeding education to professionals in the health field, and to members of the public.
In 2001, the 856 mothers and children took part in the Breastfeeding Challenge, at 26 sites across British Columbia. In 2014, there were 4,590 in 10 different countries took part, the largest recorded number of breastfeeding children ever.
