The rebirth of cool at The Belmont Bar on Granville Street

With so many downtown spots offering the same, The Belmont Bar wants to take you somewhere different – back to the original lounge scene with live entertainment nightly, great food and warm décor; something Granville Street has been longing for.

Hinting of its historic past as the Hotel Belmont in the 1930s, The Belmont Bar features industrial elements and copper finishes. The room has plenty of comfortable seating, including a horseshoe-shaped bar for great conversation and a private VIP area for guests looking for a unique experience.

Now open at 5 p.m. daily, The Belmont is the perfect after work destination, boasting a wide selection of craft beers and wine on tap. And you had better come hungry as they are offering a fantastic menu featuring savoury tapas-style share plates and delectable entrées. Dishes such as Lamb Chops, served with a side of mint cous cous, candied pine nuts and arugula pesto or the Braised Beef Short Rib with potato purée, roasted mushrooms, bacon and jus, are sure to have your mouth watering.

“I feel it is important to use local and sustainable products whenever possible, and that’s what we will be trying to do with the Belmont menu,” said Executive Chef Joel Ochsendor. “We want to bring great, creatively prepared food to the Granville strip and showcase Canadian farms and farmers.”

Nightly entertainment will showcase a range of featured Vancouver artists such as the talented Claire Mortifee and multi-instrumentalist Alex Maher from 7 to 10 p.m. and then late night, DJ Arems & DJ Hoppa keep the party going. Specialty shows and full piece bands will perform on occasion, so stay tuned and keep an eye on their events calendar.

Grand Opening Party will be on Thursday, November 6 at 9 p.m.
