The $500-million Burrard Gateway project has been in the application process for years now, but it looks as though it is close to seeing shovels in the ground. Earlier this year, Reliance Properties and Jim Pattison Developments submitted a revised rezoning application and are now awaiting city approval.
Currently, the site contains a Jim Pattison Downtown Toyota Dealership, two small non-heritage homes and two small commercial buildings. Reliance has also secured the 7-11 site at the corner of Hornby and Davie, where a tower upwards of 12 storeys may become the fourth tower in the project.
The current plan awaiting approval is for the following:
- along Hornby Street, a 54-storey tower and a 36-storey tower, with a 7-storey podium, providing retail, office and residential uses, including rental housing;
- a 14-storey office tower along Burrard Street, including a 3-storey automotive dealership
- 810 total number of residential dwelling units
- a maximum height of 525.7 ft.
