A Vancouver-based company has offered Ray Rice a $1 million contract to become its spokesperson on the condition he does not commit domestic violence otherwise he is required to repay the company plus $500K in damages.

PRO Draft League, an online fantasy sports betting website, has offered to pay Rice, a $500K base salary, which includes an additional $500K based on membership milestones. Rice is infamously known for his domestic violence incident in February 2014 of his now-wife. Rice made a public apology right before this offer was made. PDL has put a strict clause in the contract which says that if he commits any domestic violence while employed by PDL they will revoke the contract and he would have to pay an additional $500K in damages to the brand.

“We don’t condone his actions or anything that happens in the past but we feel he was genuinely remorseful for his actions and deserves a second chance,” CEO Mark Tadros told Vancity Buzz.

TMZ listed the following obligations that Rice would have as a spokesperson for their website:

  • 2 TV Commercials
  • 2 Viral Videos
  • 1 Photo Shoot
  • 30 Media Interviews
  • Weekly Column with Personal Analysis on which NFL Players to play
  • Field Reporter work, interviewing various NFL Players for the site

This isn’t the first time that the company has garnered publicity. During this year’s Super Bowl XLIX, PRO Draft League promoted their commercial, which was rejected from the NFL:
