Raise A Reader 2010 Vancouver

Dec 19 2017, 12:37 pm

Tomorrow morning Vancouverites will be greeted on street corners and bus stops and will be asked to donate some cash to help improve the country’s literacy rate in exchange for your daily paper. Furthermore, you won’t be greeted by just anybody, oh no, Vancouverites can expect to be greeted by members of the Vancouver Canucks (oh yeah and we are giving away season opener tickets, click here), including coaches and management. So if you want to snap a photo with the Canucks, this is as pretty good opportunity.

The best places to spot a member of the Vancouver Canucks would be in the heart of the business district. Last year I ran into Kesler and Wellwood. The Streets of Georgia, Granville, Dunsmuir, Burrard and Hornby are the main areas to spot a Canuck, unless of course they decide to switch it up this year.
So tomorrow morning if you’re on your way to work, your walk of shame or just hanging out downtown because you can’t sleep, pick up a paper and give $5 or more. It’s for a great cause.
This is all part of Postmedia Raise-a-Reader, which is an initiative to raise money for literacy programs and raise awareness of the importance of encouraging literacy.
