Hide your kids if they’re allergic to water; Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a weather warning for Metro Vancouver.
A rainfall warning is in effect for Vancouver, Burnaby, and New Westminster. Parts of the Fraser Valley might also be affected.
Rain will sometimes be heavy, and ECCC is forecasting up to 70 mm for the region.

This ECCC warning is due to a moisture-laden frontal system that will bring rain to the South Coast. The warning says that rain will begin Tuesday around noon and ease on Wednesday morning with the frontal system’s departure.
ECCC is also warning folks that high flows and localized flooding are a possibility, especially at lower elevations and in areas with poor drainage systems.
“Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads,” ECCC adds.
ECCC is also advising drivers to be careful, turn on their lights, and maintain a safe following distance.
The forecast for the rest of the week includes more rain, with a small break on Wednesday.

On top of the weather warning for Metro Vancouver, a snowfall warning was issued for the Sea to Sky Highway. As part of the same system, the Squamish to Whistler portion could be hit with up to 20 cm of snow.
This snowfall warning is expected to last the same span of time as the Metro Vancouver rainfall warning, from Tuesday afternoon until early Wednesday morning.
“Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow,” ECCC states.
“Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.”
